68th General Assembly To Go Ahead in Riga, Latvia (9-12 June 2022)
After due consultation with the Baltic states, the CIC President and Vice Presidents, as well as the Presidents of Divisions and Working Groups, it has been decided that the 68th General Assembly will go ahead as planned in Riga, Latvia on 9-12 June, 2022.
Riga was the intended location for our General Assembly in 2020 before it was eventually cancelled due to the global pandemic. We are excited to now finally have the opportunity to introduce you to this beautiful and historic city.
The decision to go ahead with the General Assembly was also taken in view of rendering support to the Baltic States in these difficult times due to the ongoing conflict in their local region.
This year’s event will focus on the theme of Communications and will be held under the motto: Conserve – Convene – Communicate. Knowing how to navigate online spaces and utilising communications to our advantage have never been more important, making this the perfect topic for us to explore with all of you later this year.
We would also like to inform you that the celebratory and social aspect of the General Assembly will be toned down compared to previous years, out of respect to those impacted by recent world events.
However, you can still look forward to an exciting line-up of excursions, social functions and events that we have planned.
The registration site for the General Assembly will go live later this week, so make sure to register your attendance once you see the news.
