CIC Mourns the Loss of Count Rudolf Colloredo-Mannsfeld
It is with profound sadness that the International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation (CIC) announces the passing of Count Rudolf Colloredo-Mannsfeld, a distinguished authority in the global conservation community and a lifelong advocate for sustainable hunting.
Count Colloredo-Mannsfeld’s remarkable legacy is deeply rooted in his family’s historic connection with the CIC, with his grandfather being one of the organisation’s founding members. Over the years, he held numerous key positions within the Council and Executive Committee, being named as the first Deputy President. In recognition of his invaluable contributions and leadership, the CIC conferred upon him the title of Lifetime Vice President, ensuring his continued role in shaping the organisation’s direction.
His tireless commitment to conservation through hunting spanned decades, during which he provided insight, vision, and unwavering dedication. Count Colloredo-Mannsfeld embodied the core values of the CIC, championing the responsible and sustainable management of wildlife resources for the benefit of future generations.
A man of integrity, courage, and dedication, Rudolf Colloredo-Mannsfeld was regarded as a true gentleman. His influence within the CIC and the broader conservation community will be felt for many years to come.
We extend our deepest condolences to his wife and family, two of whom are active CIC members, continuing the proud family legacy. The thoughts of the entire CIC community are with them during this difficult time.
