“Our Voice” Podcast Series Launched to Highlight Indigenous Perspectives on Conservation
Thursday, October 3, 2024
The International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation (CIC) is proud to announce the launch of the “Our Voice” podcast series, in partnership with Blood Origins. This new series provides a platform to amplify Indigenous voices in wildlife conservation, sharing unique perspectives on local communities’ challenges and solutions.
The inaugural episode features Bilal Mustafa from Pakistan, a recent graduate in International Wildlife Conservation from Oxford University. Bilal, now pursuing a Doctorate focused on the complexities of trophy hunting in Pakistan, delves into the critical role Indigenous knowledge plays in sustainable wildlife management. Co-hosted by Robbie Kroger, Founder of Blood Origins, and Bupe Banda, the episode explores how local traditions and conservation practices coexist to protect biodiversity.
The “Our Voice” series aligns with the CIC’s mission to include Indigenous perspectives in global conservation efforts. CIC and Blood Origins aim to promote a greater understanding of how traditional knowledge systems can contribute to wildlife preservation by offering this platform.
You can listen to the first episode featuring Bilal Mustafa on Apple Podcasts and all major podcast platforms.
