Poland Welcomes 57 New CIC Certified Trophy Measures
Olsztyn, Poland, October 2024 – The CIC (International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation) recently completed a successful Trophy Evaluation Training near Olsztyn, resulting in 57 new Certified CIC Measurers (CCMs) joining the ranks of qualified trophy evaluators. Expertly organised by the Polish Hunting Association, the training highlights the CIC’s commitment to wildlife management and sustainable hunting across Europe.
The CIC Trophy Evaluation System (TES) is an internationally recognised standard developed to ensure consistent, scientifically based evaluation of game trophies. By certifying measurers through TES, CIC promotes responsible, sustainable hunting practices by providing accurate data to support conservation and wildlife management initiatives.
Led by respected experts Prof. Miloslav Vach (Czech Republic), Prof. Roman Dziedzic (Poland), and Larry Taaffe (Ireland), participants engaged in comprehensive training, including a session measuring a Fallow Deer trophy that qualified for an International CIC Gold Medal. This expert guidance reinforced the high standards TES upholds as a global benchmark for ethical hunting and trophy evaluation.
CIC Deputy Director General Arno Wimpffen was instrumental in supporting this training, underscoring the CIC’s strong partnership with the Polish hunting community. The addition of these new certified measurers is a noteworthy achievement for CIC, reinforcing the value of international collaboration and adherence to uniform standards in wildlife conservation.
