Ukrainian Hunters Council Hosts Conference on Sustainable Hunting and Economic Development

Drohobych District, Ukraine, November 14 –  Last month, the Ukrainian Hunters Council, in collaboration with the International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation (CIC) Ukrainian Delegation, successfully convened a conference titled “Hunting as a Promising Path for Economic Growth in Non-Industrial Areas and a Vital Tool for Conservation and Biodiversity Restoration.” The event took place at Ferma-Rancho “Dyke – Pole” in Pochayevychi village, bringing together experts and stakeholders to explore sustainable hunting practices and their role in economic and ecological development.

Conference Highlights:

• Global Trends in Hunting Economics: Discussions centred on international perspectives, examining how hunting contributes to economic growth and sustainability in various regions.
• State and Future of Ukraine’s Hunting Industry: Participants assessed the current landscape of Ukraine’s hunting sector, identifying opportunities and challenges for future development.
• Hunting as a Catalyst for Related Industries: The conference explored how hunting can drive growth in ancillary industries, fostering broader economic benefits in non-industrial areas.
• Game Breeding for Wildlife Population Recovery: Sessions highlighted the importance of game breeding as a strategy for restoring and maintaining healthy wildlife populations, contributing to biodiversity conservation.
