Blaser Partners with CIC to Support Chamois Conservation Amidst Climate Challenges
Budapest, Hungary, October 2024 – The CIC (International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation) is proud to announce that Blaser, the renowned global leader in hunting rifles, optics, and equipment, has become a corporate sponsor. Their support is specifically dedicated to backing the CIC’s “Chamois in a Changing Climate” project, an important initiative aimed at assessing and addressing the impacts of climate change on alpine chamois populations.
Led by Professor Klaus Hackländer, the project focuses on monitoring the resilience of chamois populations in the alpine region and developing conservation strategies to safeguard this species in the face of climate challenges. The sponsorship by Blaser underlines their strong commitment to wildlife conservation and sustainable hunting practices, perfectly aligning with CIC’s mission to promote responsible wildlife management across Europe.
Blaser’s support will fund critical research and enhance the visibility and impact of this initiative, helping ensure that effective measures are implemented to protect the chamois in the long term. Their involvement highlights the crucial role that industry leaders can play in conservation efforts, making a tangible contribution to wildlife protection.
“We are grateful for Blaser’s partnership on this vital project,” said Dr. Philipp Harmer, President of the CIC. “Their backing underscores the importance of collaboration between the hunting industry and conservation organisations to address the pressing environmental challenges of our time.”
