CIC Brochure - 2nd Edition
[2023]
The 2nd edition of the CIC Brochure (2023) offers a comprehensive look at the CIC, its history and current scope of work, as well as its governance structure.
CIC Statutes
[2022]
The CIC revised its Statutes at the 68th General Assembly in Riga (2022), updating its contents to reflect the modern day processes and structures within the organisation.
These Statutes were later amended in 2024 as part of the 70th General Assembly in Cascais (2024), with minor revisions made to its contents.
CIC World Game Cookbook
[2021]
The CIC World Game Cookbook is a collection of 207 game recipes from 66 different countries and regions, with each recipe inspired by the local game and local flavours.
Explore old traditions and modern innovations in this unique and one-of-a-kind publication brought to you by the International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation.
The book is authored by Deputy President of the Artemis Working Group, Soňa Chovanová Supeková.
Legendary Tótmegyer
[2023]
The legendary village of Tótmegyer has a long and storied past. Belonging to Hungary up until 1918, then changing hands to Czechoslovakia, it can today be found in Slovakia as the municipality of Pálarikovo, which is also home to the CIC Museum.
Co-founder of the CIC, Count Lajos Károlyi of Nagykároly (1872-1965), was among the former owners of Tótmegyer.
Legendary Tótmegyer (2023) is an intellectual and factual memorial to the history of Tótmegyer, its famous landlord and the Károlyi family. The book was authored by Professor Sándor Faragó in its original language of Hungarian, and has now been translated into English for wider consumption.
CIC Caprinae Atlas of the World
[2014]
The CIC Caprinae Atlas of the World aims to present an overview on the distribution ranges of wild Caprinae phenotypes in the northern hemisphere, their physical appearance, life history, conservation status and sustainable use.
[2018]
Authored by Willem Wijnstekers and published by the CIC, The Evolution of CITES was a regular publication providing a comprehensive overview of the work of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
The publication explained key definitions, listing criteria, and trade provisions outlined in the Convention’s Articles and Resolutions, while giving an overview of its history, structure, and implementation.
The 11th Edition of The Evolution of CITES (2018) was the last version to published.

Economic Impact of Hunting
[2022]
Assessing the Economic Impact of Hunting in Belgium is a study conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) on the economic, social and conservation benefits brought about by the hunting sector as a whole.
Commissioned at the initiative of the Belgian Delegation of CIC – joined by the Royal Saint-Hubert Club de Belgique (RSHCB), the Fédération des Chasseurs de Grand Gibier de Belgique (FCGGB) and Hubertus Vereniging Vlaanderen (HVV) – the study sought to explore and quantify the economic impact of hunting in Belgium, focusing specifically on spending by hunters and event organisers.

The Chamois in Europe: Status and Management Needs in the Alpine Region examines the management of the Alpine chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra L.) in the European Union member states and Switzerland.
This publication compares the different approaches to chamois management, analyzing topics such as habitat conditions, population estimates, hunting regulations, and the implementation of the EU Habitats Directive.
Large Carnivore Monitoring
[2021]
Large Carnivore Monitoring in the Carpathian Mountains examines monitoring methodologies for large carnivores (brown bear, wolf, and lynx) across the Carpathian Mountains region.
The publication, a joint effort by the International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation (CIC) and the Secretariat of the Carpathian Convention, comprises of national reports from seven countries, comparing different monitoring approaches to promote transboundary monitoring schemes
Debunking the Myths

In this series, we look at common myths surrounding international hunting, as well as the real science associated with this proven wildlife management, conservation and livelihood activity.
