CIC Strengthens Transatlantic Ties at SCI Nashville Convention
Nashville, Tennessee – The International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation (CIC) proudly participated in the Safari Club International (SCI) Nashville Convention, hailed by Forbes Magazine as the “Super Bowl of Hunting.” Graciously hosted by SCI President John McLaurin and CEO Laird Hamberlin, the event served as a pivotal platform for strengthening transatlantic ties and fostering global collaboration on wildlife conservation and sustainable use.
The CIC delegation, led by President Dr. Philipp Harmer, included Director General Sebastian Winkler, Deputy Director General Arno Wimpffen, and Director of Communications and Public Affairs Tristan Breijer. The team engaged in productive discussions with sponsors, partners, policymakers, and industry collaborators, highlighting CIC’s dedication to advancing international cooperation in sustainable wildlife management.
Dr. Miguel Estade, the Chair of the European Committee, hosted the delegation at his annual meeting, where Dr. Harmer spoke on the importance of collaboration among hunters. Following this was a reception for our close partners, the International Order of St. Hubertus, where further dialogue on transatlantic participation and joint efforts were discussed.
This occasion facilitated meaningful dialogue on key conservation topics and reinforced the shared commitment of SCI and CIC to promote responsible hunting as a cornerstone of biodiversity conservation. The convention also provided an invaluable opportunity for the CIC to expand its global network, share expertise, and explore innovative solutions with stakeholders from across the hunting and conservation sectors.
CIC extends its gratitude to SCI for their gracious hospitality and for creating an inspiring space to promote collaboration and sustainability on a global scale.
