It is with deep sorrow that we have learned of the passing of Mr Olivier Rolin Jacquemyns, a distinguished member of the International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation (CIC) and one of the generous founders of Club 200.
Born in 1953, Olivier joined the CIC in 2005 and soon became Head of Delegation, a position he held from 2007 to 2013, before serving as CIC Auditor from 2014 to 2017. During this time, he played an instrumental role in modernising the CIC’s communications, notably by creating the first website for his delegation and bringing renewed energy to our shared mission.
Olivier was not only a man of passion for hunting and conservation but also of profound dedication to the CIC. He was always eager to participate, to contribute, and to drive our organisation forward. A true internationalist, he worked extensively with Japan, nurturing a special connection with its people. His presence was felt across the world: in the fields of Sologne, the landscapes of Tuscany and Switzerland, and among friends and family in Brussels.
Those who knew him remember his generosity, integrity, and commitment. Olivier gave selflessly to causes he believed in, whether in Europe or Africa. In the Central African Republic, he personally helped preserve vast areas through sustainable use. He supported with discretion but with conviction, always attentive to projects that carried genuine meaning.
Olivier shared his passion for life and the CIC with his beloved wife, Donatienne, herself a member, and their children, Jean, Émilie, and Robert-Guy. Our thoughts are with them in this difficult time.
His passing leaves a deep void within our community, but his spirit, leadership, and friendship will continue to inspire us. The CIC mourns a true gentleman, a visionary hunter, and a loyal friend to nature and to all who shared his path.
