The International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation (CIC) is seeking talented and motivated individuals to join our internship programme. This is a unique opportunity to gain professional experience in international conservation while supporting a globally active NGO committed to biodiversity, sustainable use, and cultural heritage.
Who We Are
The CIC is a politically independent, non-profit organisation founded in 1930. With 29 State Members, 90 NGO partners, and over 1,900 members in more than 80 countries, we promote wildlife conservation through the responsible use of natural resources – including regulated hunting. Our work connects governments, scientific institutions, rural communities, and policy platforms across the world.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for individuals who are:
- Proficient in IT tools, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Canva (Adobe Creative Suite a plus)
- Skilled at communicating with diverse groups, including government, civil society, and rural stakeholders
- Able to conduct research, drafting, and editing in clear, professional English
- Familiar with international relations, global institutions, and general world history
- Interested in wildlife conservation, sustainable use, and field-based environmental policy
- Organised, reliable, and proactive
- Fluent in English (other languages are an asset)
- A hunting licence or experience with hunting is beneficial, but not required
What You’ll Do
Depending on your background and interests, tasks may include:
- Supporting communications, social media, or event planning
- Conducting research and preparing briefing notes on wildlife policy, biodiversity, and international conservation
- Assisting with stakeholder engagement, reporting, or donor communications
- Helping prepare materials for conferences, general assemblies, or partner events
- Administrative and editorial support to CIC divisions and working groups
Internship Conditions
- Duration: Typically 3–6 months, flexible start
- Location: Remote or at one of our offices (Budakeszi, Vienna, Geneva, or London)
- Compensation: Remuneration is considered based on qualifications
- Working Language: English
