The International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation (CIC) extends its warmest congratulations to Juan Del Yerro San Román on his appointment as President of the Junta Nacional de Homologación de Trofeos de Caza (JNHTC). This milestone marks a new era for the institution, which has been instrumental in advancing game trophy measurement and sustainable hunting since its founding in 1950 at the National Exhibition of Game Trophies in Madrid.
A prominent member of the CIC, Mr. Del Yerro assumes the presidency after the exceptional 25-year tenure of Alonso Álvarez de Toledo, Marqués de Valdueza. During this period, the JNHTC solidified its role in conservation by establishing the National Trophy Registry in 2013, which now features over 80,000 entries. This invaluable database is a cornerstone of research and sustainable wildlife management in Spain.
The JNHTC’s collaboration with the CIC Trophy Evaluation Database highlights its commitment to global conservation efforts. As President, Mr. Del Yerro aims to further enhance the institution’s influence, ensuring that trophy measurement remains a critical tool for promoting sustainable wildlife management and conservation.
The CIC is proud to celebrate Mr. Del Yerro’s appointment and looks forward to supporting his leadership in driving forward the shared mission of conservation through sustainable use.
